Lesotho Council of NGOs to mark 16 days of activism preparations in Mohale's Hoek (17/11/15).
In preparations to mark 16 days of activism against gender based violence,
Lesotho Council of NGOs will hold a one day public gathering at Siloe Community
Council in Mohale's Hoek on November 19th 2015.
The public gathering seek to sensitise communities about 16 days of activism
and to disseminate information on gender based legislation and how it affects women.
The year 2015 marks the 24th year of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based
Violence Campaign. The campaign will run from 25th November to 10th December and
the theme for 2015 is "From peace in the home to peace in the world: Make education safe for all!"
LCN is currently implementing a project called Public Participation & NSAs
(PuPNac) Capacity Building for Development through the support of European Union
(Lesotho) to enable communities to be better informed so as to demand services
and their rights from the duty bearers. Hence this activity seeks to achieve the project goal.
Another gathering will be conducted in the Mafeteng district (Mamantso Council).
